 Then, these are analyzed for the presence of a set of specific DNA markers.
 Series of probes bonded to a DNA sample will form a specific pattern for an individual.
 If 4 to 5 regions are alike, the suspect is likely the one who left the sample in the crime scene.


Forensic DNA fingerprinting has been considered by judges to be better than eyewitness accounts since physiological evidence can never lie.
 Aside from the crime-related issues solved, this procedure can also be used to identify endangered and protected species to prosecute poachers, detect bacterial or other air, water, soil and food contaminants.

 In fact it is very common for you to see 1 Profile surrounded by multiple Pages! Don't let that intimidate you, because although Facebook Pages are pretty much all business, about 20% of time they can be and are personal.
 You will be drawn to Pages especially when they share valuable information about products and services that benefits you the most! Pages also "like" to GIVE special gifts so it is best to look for Pages that match your interests.
 So remember, make "friends" with the Profiles and you will "like" more Pages!

The Rose-Breasted Grosbeak

"Wild Bird Profile: The Rose-Breasted Grosbeak","  Males are black and white with a bright pink patch on their breast and inside their wings.
 First summer males are similar to males but have browner plumage and a duller pink patch on their breast.
 They also breed along the Appalachian mountain range.
Movement: Based on banding data, RB grosbeaks breeding in the eastern U.
 winter in eastern Central America and South America and western breeders are found in Mexico and western Central America.
Food: During the breeding season, RB grosbeaks eat equal amounts of insect matter and vegetable matter including fruit and seeds.
  RB grosbeaks are often found at feeders with black-oil sunflower seeds.
Sound: The male RB grosbeak song sounds incredibly similar to scarlet tanagers and American robins.
 The grosbeak song has few pauses compared to robins and is less crass compared to tanagers.
 They have eggs and nestlings between May and July and generally have only one brood.
Similar species: Rose-breasted grosbeaks are closely related to the black-headed grosbeak but looks entirely different.
Interesting fact: If you open the wings of the grosbeaks, you will see a bright orange (female) or bright pink patch of feathers.

I wonder what their pygmy brains are thinking as they wander around the pasture and walk along the pond.


I've paid some attention to four areas of pygmy behavior: language, battling, affection, and differentiation.
 Eventually, if generalized theories of pygmy behavior can be developed, it might be worthwhile to gather more concrete data in addition to the current set of notes.


Their role in life as prey rather than predators seems to inform much of their behavior.
"" The weakest pygmies are always the one's that the predators attack first.

On Language

So far I've found at least five distinct sounds.


First, there is a separation call that they use whenever one goat wanders away from the herd.


Second, there is a recognition call generally associated with positive expectations.
 They'll also make this call if we're going for a walk, as they love to wander around the property.
 They know I don't get up on time every morning so it's muted at breakfast.


Fourth, there is a little ""meep, meep, meep"" call they make deep in their throats when they're readying themselves for battle.


Fifth, and saddest, there is a very loud, higher pitched, continuous call which either means ""I am hurt"" or ""I think I am hurt.
 Sally, in particular, kicks her legs in all directions and screams like a little baby as soon as the orange clipper is unsheathed.
 Sally was then able to observe my high pitched, continuous, cursing behavior.
 I'm sure there is an element of this, but they seem to really enjoy smashing foreheads.
 Their fur stands straight up on their backs, a traditional sign of anger, while they are battling, but it seems to be puffery more than enmity.


Social Affection and Herd Bonding

The pygmy's generous use of social affection to support bonding within the herd is one of the most endearing aspects of their behavior.
 They regularly engage in this behavior with each other.
 There is a lot of touching going on in pygmy land, but asexual in the case of our herd.


Personality Differentiation

We only have four pygmy goats, so this is clearly anecdotal not dispositive, but I believe we can ignore any fear of specious anthropomorphism and conclude that these pygmies have personalities that are wildly differentiated and wildly entertaining.
 Charlie dominates the herd with size and muscle.
 Given this, he still lets Ella lead when something new is afoot.
 Jack is stalwart and undemanding, taking what life brings him.


One could go on, but clearly there is not one genetic mold stamping out identical neural pathways.


Further Study

Additional work remains to be done in several areas, but time is money and pygmies are a parsimonious lot who pay little for unscientific monographs.


Their intelligence relative to other pets would be a particularly fruitful area for more analysis.
 Like cats, even though they seem to understand certain commands, they seem entirely disinclined to sit, shake or rollover.

step #4: get the dog's attention

at this step in the process you need to get your dog's attention because if your dog's attention is not on you, it will not be able to respond to your command and instructions.
 If your dog cannot give you the attention, it will not listen to you, and thus making the training pointless.
 After doing it few times the dog will associate the command or instruction with looking at you.
 In order to get the respect of your dog you must be consistent and avoid haphazard dog training.


As you can see when you follow the above steps you will be in a splendid position to achieve more benefits whenever you decide to begin your basic dog obedience training program.

 Was the piece someone's pop bottle in the sixties, or was it part of a sea captain's liquor bottle hundreds of years ago? Perhaps some of that old Chesapeake sea glass came blasting out of a local cannon during the Battle of 1812.
 Then there's sea pottery, shards of broken china worn smooth by the sea.
